What drew you to become a HALTER Jockey?
I'm excited to be a HALTER jockey so that I can help shine a light on the impactful work that HALTER does for the specials needs students across the Upstate. My husband, Brian serves on the Executive Bo
ard of HALTER, and through his involvement, we've been able to witness the joy that HALTER programming brings to the students and their families. As a public health professional, I appreciate the unique approach that HALTER brings to child development and want others to be aware of the multifaced therapeutic potential of equine relationships.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
As a project manager for Guardian Research Network, I spend my work hours collaborating with our partners in the biopharma industry in identifying data-driven solutions related to cancer care and clinical research. Outside of work, I spend a lot of my free time running, playing with our dog, and traveling. While originally from Dayton, Ohio, I moved to Spartanburg to attend Wofford College, where I ran cross country and track, and met my husband Brian. After graduation, I spent a few years in Washington, DC where I earned my Master of Public Health degree at The George Washington University. I've been grateful to call the Upstate home since moving back here in 2016.
EVERY child who participates at HALTER depends on the generosity of our donors, because the fees that are charged to individuals only cover 11% of the expenses.
